Having just returned from a European Trip it is encouraging to know that we live in a country in better shape than most. In relation to real estate markets their current experience is similar to ours.
There is a definite improvement in real estate activity with increased number of buyers attending our auctions and open houses. Investors, who I believe are critical to providing market impetus, are returning to the market in increasing numbers. This trend should continue, particularly if as seems probable, interest rates fall once again.
The rental market remains stable with a balance between supply of rental properties and tenants looking for them. Continued job uncertainty and lack of confidence has prevented any material increase in weekly rents. This could change when economic conditions improve.
All on all, a good time to bring forward any purchasing decision you have been considering and an encouraging sign for property owners in the medium to long terms.
Until next time…..
